SAKAI now offers an optional vulcanized rubber scraper blade assembly for smooth drum SV414 soil compactor variants. This scraper cleans wet sandy soil, wet dusty clay, and compacted rock dust from sub base off the face of the drum before it has a chance to dry. This material once dried to the drum is difficult to remove and impacts the smoothness of the finished soil or aggregate base therefore the smoothness of overlaid surfaces such as asphalt. The mounts are slotted for adjustment as the blade wears to maintain contact. Replacement blades are available and easy to swap in.
